Love Color – Love Nature – Merging the 2

It is always a tough task to imagine and to implement it when ready solutions are not available . For many year nature and its colors have been luring everyone to bring them home and make the best of out of it. Wood has been one of the survival factor for human evolution and continues to adorn all landscapes and homes.

Timber – Logs when newly felled contains 50% of its dry weight as water , sap & moisture .With new technology and drying process all woods are run down to lesser than 10% of moisture content known as seasoned wood which reduced weight and sometimes size which transported to various industries – i.e saw mills , hardwood for construction purpose , pallets or crate makers , paper mills or sawmill.

A good hardwood or soft wood is used for carving, creating new designs. Today with technology in place cnc, laser & router works have opened a space for creative junkies to imagine , dream and bring it on table.

Gone are the days when all hand carved designs an hand held machines brought the wood art some depth . Today various 3D & 4 axis machines have taken over with the hand held lathing process, reducing the lead time in manufacturing.

Various artist around the globe   experiment with wood to depict their creative thinking , nature , design and sketch ,  paint on furniture . Not all artist are wood workers and not all wood working can create the artist perception but the possibilities to merge the two has created a new perspective of buyer demands.

Not only has the means and methods of carving and designing has changed there is new form of art emerging in the color treatment and application. In India traditionally powder colors with polishes have been predominant in furniture finishing but with the market opening to newer polishes i.e Oil stainers by Varathene , Miniwax are adding a different dimension to wood. Individual owners or artist need not depend on the labour for applications any more !

Why only stain a plain surface? Today through various videos all over the internet space many people are experimenting the vintage look and feel with burning wood , pastel colors application and texturing , chalk colors and scrapping , painting abstract on wood furniture , coating and re-coating for the double layer art look !
